Drawing on his extensive planning expertise, Mark’a management style brings a unique mixture of organized discipline and political sensitivity to his his projects.

The project will have a construction value of approximately one half billion dollars and will create over 1,500 full time jobs in the community when complete.
The project aims to be the healthiest neighbourhood in Canada and will include:
A diversity of housing
A major parks and trails network
With healthcare, education, a food market, a wine centre, a childrens education centre, seniors housing, a high tech cluster and a unique boutique shopping experience.
A Destination Commercial Village
The project has its planning approvals and is halfway through its subdivision process as of summer 2017. It expects to break ground on infrastructure construction in 2018.
The Foothills is an 1838-acre project just north of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, zoned for 730 homes and a mixed-use village.
Mark served as VP of Development in 2015 and 2016, leading the re-planning and redesigning of the project with Storm Mountain Developments as it pulled the project out bankruptcy from a previous developer.
The project set a mid-Island record for presales when it went to market in mid 2017, selling over $10 million in lots in within 90 minutes of its launch.
It starts infrastructure construction in late summer 2017. Homes begin construction in 2018.

In addition, Mark has renovated many properties himself and manages a portfolio of rental properties.
Project management approach
Mark structures his development and team management projects into both sequential stages with different priorities and outcomes at each stage, and into many streams of work and consideration that are required at each stage.
He manages projects with large workplan dashboards (hundreds of rows long) that are updated weekly to ensure the project is moving forward in a highly organized way. Mark’s experience as a consultant makes him effective at managing the large consulting teams required to deliver these complex projects.
Mark always works closely with the local municipality and experience shows that each community approaches planning and development approvals differently. His years of public sector work make him effective at working with the local municipality and communities to build support for the project and streamline the approvals process.
